1980 Enrolled in Fine Art Dept,of Nanjing University of The Arts, major in Chinese Painting;
1980年 考入南京艺术学院美术系，主修中国画；
1984 Graduated from Nanjing University of The Arts;Six Men of Letters" was collected by Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum;Worked at Jiangsu Fine Arts Publishing House, Editor of "Jiangsu Art Monthly Pictorial";Six Men of Letters was published in "Meishu" No.12 with his words on artistic creation.;Six Men of Letters & "Contemplating Buffalo" were selected for the 6th National Exhibition of Fine Arts. ";Contemplating Buffalo was published in the catalogue "Selected Works of Figure Painting by Chinese Middle-aged& Young Artists";
1984年 毕业于南京艺术学院；《六君子》被江苏美术馆收藏；就职于江苏美术出版社，任《江苏画刊》编辑；《品牛图》发表于《全国中青年人物画作品选》；毕业作品《六君子》和《品牛图》入选第六届全国美术展；《美术》第十二期发表作品《六君子》及文章《我画六君子》；
1990 Five Young Painters' works Exhibition, Beijing Contemporary Museum;
1990年 中国当代青年画家五人展，北京当代美术馆；
1991 Featured Article "Painter's Modern Vision" about Yu's Landscape paintings on "China Daily" (1991.Jan.15th, with 2 paintings);Admitted to Japan as an artist with specific visa on Aug. Participated in "Contemporary Chinese Painters to Japan Anniversary Exhibition", Shore Gallery, Osaka;
1991年 8月，以艺术家签证的身份应邀赴日本从事艺术创作；8月，参加中国现代画家来日纪念展，Shore Gallery，大阪；《中国日报》1月15日发表余启平山水画专题评论文章“Painter sModern Vision”以及作品2幅；
1992 Solo Exhibition,Kobe Yokohama;Solo Exhibition and Catalogue, City Gallery, Hong Kong;Articles on "Ming Pao" "Wen Hui Pao" "Sing Tao Daily" "Collector's World" "The World of Chinese Art";Biographical “No Special Tones for the Flute, but just play it with Your Mind”,published in “Chinese Biographical Literature”;
1992年 个展，神户、横滨；个展并出版《余启平画集》，City Gallery，香港；《中国传记文学》发表介绍余启平的传记文章《短笛无调信口吹》；《明报》、《文汇报》、《星岛日报》、《收藏天地》、《中国文物世界》等均有专题；
1996 Yu Qinping's Paintings Exhibition,Beijing International Art Gallery;Catalogue "Landscape Paintings of Yu Qiping",by TAI YIP Company, Hong Kong;
1996年 余启平作品展，北京国际艺苑美术馆；《余启平山水画集》,香港大业出版公司；
